Mt. Manalmon "Biak na Bato' San Miguel Bulacan.

Mt. Manalmon is located in Sitio Madlum, San Miguel, Bulacan. The locals often refer to it as “Biak na Bato,” which holds great historical significance as part of the Katipunan Revolution. Interestingly, if you ask the locals where Mt. Manalmon is, they might not recognize the name — they’re more familiar with calling the mountain Biak na Bato.

Beyond its rich historical background, Biak na Bato National Park offers a variety of exciting outdoor adventures. Visitors can enjoy hiking Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola, exploring the Bat Cave and Manalmon Cave through caving or spelunking, river trekking or crossing, and even cliff diving. And of course, no visit would be complete without experiencing the park’s iconic “Monkey Bridge.”

From Cubao, we took a bus bound for Cabanatuan. Baliwag Transit operates regular trips to Cabanatuan via the Bulacan route. The travel time from Cubao to Barangay Kamias — the entry point to Sitio Madlum — takes around two hours.

We got off the bus at Barangay Kamias, San Miguel, Bulacan. From there, a tricycle ride will take you to the entrance of Biak na Bato National Park. The fare can be quite expensive, so it’s a good idea to practice your bargaining skills when you get here.

We asked our driver to take us to the nearest carinderia along the way. We enjoyed a hearty lunch with classic Bulaceño dishes — dinuguan, lechon, bopis, banana, and ice-cold soft drinks.

For groups planning to stay overnight at Biak na Bato National Park, you can buy your supplies at the market located before the entrance to Sitio Madlum. Most essentials are available there, except for butane or denatured alcohol.
